Missouri Governor Proclaims July as Lakes Appreciation Month
July, 2025
July has officially been proclaimed Lakes Appreciation Month in Missouri by Governor Mike Kehoe! The proclamation recognizes the vital role lakes play in Missouri’s environment, economy, and way of life.
Lakes Appreciation Month was first established in July 1998 by the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) to highlight the importance of lakes and encourage public appreciation and stewardship. We have championed Missouri's proclamation of Lakes Appreciation Month since 2023 to increase awareness of the importance of water quality in our lakes.
Annual Beaver Lake Volunteer Day
September 27th, 2025
Help us pick up litter around Beaver Lake by shoreline and boat! BYO Boat. Lunch and clean up supplies provided for volunteers. Then go to Hickory Creek Park to hear Secchi Day data results and talk with the organizations at the Science Fair working to help protect Beaver Lake.

Join us as we pick up litter and keep the shores of our favorite lakes clean! For the last 24 years, our shoreline clean up event has helped to clean and maintain the shorelines of Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo, Bull Shoals Lake and more!
